Young Women's Temple Trip

This year in our ward we challenged all of the girls and leaders to finish the virtue value in their Personal Progress.  In order to do this you had to read The Book of Mormon.  Every girl and leader that finished the virtue value got to go on a trip to the Salt Lake Temple to do baptisms for the dead in the Salt Lake Temple.  (A few of the girls and leaders that finished didn't get to go because of schedule conflicts-we missed them and the girls that didn't finish!)
The trip was a great testimony builder.  We did baptisms first.  This was a highlight of the trip.  It was so beautiful in the temple and the girls loved this experience.  After baptisms we headed out on the TRAX train for lunch.  One of the girls had never been to Salt Lake in her life!  She got so excited when she saw a taxi!  It was cute!  Here we are waiting for the TRAX.

After lunch we headed back to Temple Square for the rest of the day.  We watched high school choirs sing in the Joseph Smith Building and watched the Joseph Smith movie (which a lot of us had never seen before)!  *WARNING...for those of you that have never seen it...it is a very spiritual movie and a tear-jerker!  It is an amazing movie and the spirit was so strong there, and it strengthened my testimony of Joseph Smith being called of God to be the prophet that restored the church back on earth.  It also made me realize more the trials he endured yet he endured to the end and did what he was asked.  He truly was a prophet of God.  Now I need to see the movie about Emma, his wife.
After the movie we walked around temple square to see the fabulous Christmas lights and Christmas nativities.

Temple Square was magnificent and it really made me reflect on the true meaning of Christmas and reflect on the things our Savior has done for each of us.

We walked through the visitors' centers and enjoyed the displays.  They have a new replica of the Salt Lake Temple and what some of the rooms look like inside!  It is AMAZING.  This picture doesn't do it justice to the beautiful artwork.

We spent the night at Kelli Hanks' parents' home and what great hosts they were.  We had pizza, played games, watched a movie, and talked!  The girls went to bed pretty early...it was us leaders that stayed up until 1:30 in the morning talking.

We had to take a picture of Burke actually wearing a seatbelt!  He was not happy about wearing it, but he promised the bishop he would wear it! 

We LOVED our trip and we love our young women!  They are great girls!  I love serving in the Young Women's organization.
