Harvest Break

Harvest Break is about over.  The kids go back to school on Monday.  We have had a great harvest!  How was yours?  Here is a peek into the Johnson home during harvest break...
Lots of hours were spent playing games with Conner around the couch.  A few of the favorites being Uno (go figure), Slap Jack, Trains, and Phase 10.

Kallie turned 7!  She was so excited to be 7!

On our kids' 7th birthday we have taken them and some friends bowling.  We went  bowling at the St. Anthony bowling alley with a bunch of little girls...and Bryce!

And we can't forget our tradition of having a party with the cousins and grandparents (we always miss the ones that don't live close!)

Kallie's favorite color is purple and she wanted a cake with flowers and purple on it! 

Oh, how fun it is to be 7!

Conner got to go to the doctor to have his staples out.  He had 19 staples taken out of his leg.  The two screws are still in and will stay in until the end of the year.  After getting his staples out, he got a new cast put on (still casted up to the middle of his thigh).  He couldn't decide if it hurt worse to have the staples out or straighten his knee for the few minutes he didn't have a cast on.  The doctor said it was normal for his knee to hurt because he has had it bent for so long! His new cast is GREEN!  Great color for Halloween time!  This new cast will stay on at least 4-5 weeks!

General Conference...which I LOVE!!!  Our tradition is to do puzzles while we listen.  We get a big puzzle out every conference and work on it the whole weekend!  (This one took us a LONG time to finish-we finally finished it yesterday!)

The kids did little puzzles and Bryce put together a marble works!

I loved this picture!   Malorie took it and got the marbles flying out of his invention!

We did a bunch of canning!  My kids were great help in chopping and peeling and picking!  They worked hard.  We canned salsa, beets, and vegetable soup during the break.

Took a trip to Pocatello to see cousins and then down to Utah to see more cousins.  Ate at Chuck-a-rama with some cousins.

Couldn't go to Logan without stopping at Aggie Ice Cream.

Took the kids to see my Grandpa Poulsen's grave in Logan.

Another birthday during harvest...yep, Miss Malorie turned 11! 

She has been turning our "den" into her "school room".  Grandma Johnson gave her a whole bunch of school supplies and decorations from when she was a teacher.  Malorie thought a white board would make her school room complete...so that is what she asked for for her birthday.  We got her a big one and a small one.  We wrapped the small one and hid the big one so she would be surprised.  By the look on her face, I think she was a little disappointed to see this small one...

until, she read the note attached to it that told her to check behind the piano and she found this...

The other thing she really wanted was a candy bouquet!  She LOVES chocolate and Grandma Poulsen makes these at the Floral Shop.  She couldn't have been happier!

Birthday with the cousin clan!

Mal didn't want a cake...she chose pie!  We served all sorts of pies.  Her favorite is Oreo Pie-she even made it herself!

Happy Birthday Malorie!

Took the kids to a 3D movie-The SMURFS!  We hadn't ever been to a 3D movie in the theater before (only at Disneyland).  It was a fun show!

Brett enjoyed this beautiful sunrise on his way to work the other morning!  It was gorgeous! 

Harvest has been great and the last few days the weather has been beautiful!  We are ready to get back to school.
