Up-to-date in 2008

I am going to begin a blog spot for our family. My mother-in-law thought it would be a fun thing for each of our families to make a blog spot so I am going to try it! I am going to give a little update on our family in 2008:

January-We started the first day of the year off with a tour of the open house at the Rexburg Temple! We went with all of the Poulsen family! We had been through the open house the week before with the Johnson family! It was a beautiful temple and the kids loved it! They kept asking when we could go again! On our 2nd visit, as we were finishing the tour, a temple worker asked if our kids would like a special assignment. We agreed and they took Conner, Malorie, Kallie, and their two cousins (Bridger and Jacie) down to dust the noses of the oxen on the baptismal font! It was an incredible experience to watch them take a towel and dust the oxen off! Their smiles were so big as they did it. Malorie wanted to keep her towel to help her remember that day at the temple! I know the older ones will remember that forever! Conner had the opportunity to be part of the Children's Celebration for the Temple dedication. He was one of the wheat walkers and had a great time in the performance!

• The dedication of the temple was held in February. They had to move it back a week because our prophet, President Hinckley passed away. It was the weekend of Conner's birthday. He was able to go with Brett and I to the dedication. We got to go to the temple for the dedication and be inside! It was a super day!



• March-Brett and I went to Atlanta, Georgia for a week while my mom kept our kids. It was our 10 year wedding anniversary in December of 2007 and we wanted to go back to Brett's mission...so we did! We had a fabulous time...just the two of us! We got home 3 days before the big tornado hit Atlanta! It was crazy to see all of the places we had just been in shambles on the news after we were safely home! The highlights of our trip include: The Georgia Aquarium, Nascar Race, CNN Center, Coke Museum, visiting all of Brett's areas, eating at the Sun Dial (it sits on top of the highest hotel and spins so you can see the whole city as you eat), hockey game, hiking Stone Mountain, Atlanta Zoo, and just spending time with each other!



• Our kids are getting big! They keep us laughing and you never know what each day will bring! Conner is now 9 years old and in the 3rd grade. He loves playing sports and has grown to love the Atlanta Braves and the Dallas Cowboys. He enjoys school and Cub Scouts. He is going to be taller than his mom if he keeps growing taller!



• Malorie is 7 and can't wait to turn 8 this year and be baptized! She is almost toothless! She has lost 6 teeth in the last 6 months! She just lost one last night while we were eating dinner! She has lost a total of 8 teeth-the last 6 in the last 6 months! We were going to take her to the dentist for a checkup and cleaning next week, but we decided to give her appointment to her little sister and do hers in a few months when she has a few teeth in her mouth! She is in the 1st grade and continues to love reading, dancing, and singing wherever she goes!



• Kallie is 3 and the "big girl" at home while the other two are at school. She likes being a "mom" to Bryce! This year we put her in dance and she can't wait for Wednesdays. She knows 2 days of the week...Sunday so she can go to Sunbeams and Wednesday so she can go to dance with her cousin Alexa! Those two have worked out quite a system for their moms. Each week at dance they ask if they can go to each other's houses! It is fun for them!



• Bryce is our fun 1 year old! He now walks everywhere and sometimes tries to "run" places because he wants to keep up with his siblings! He is a pretty laid back kid most of the time unless he can't get a "little people" in its car! Then he gets frustrated and bangs his head on the floor. We can't figure out why he does that because every time he does it he cries and cries! He fell a couple of weeks ago and cut his chin open. We had to take him to Community Care for stitches...they glued it instead!
