YEAH! It is happening! We are going to finish our basement. We got our bids in and picked the one that we thought would do us the best job! They are starting in about a week! We had to do a little "prep" work! We decided to take down the ceiling that is down there so we can replace all of the pipes with new pipes before we get it finished and have problems later down the road.
These are pictures of the family room.
We are going to have it sheet rocked and finished, but before all of that work can be done, we had to take out the ceiling! Brett and Conner worked their little tails off on Saturday and took it completely down! What a project! Look at all of the dust!
What a mess! Look at these two hard workers! The girls said they looked like "chimney sweeps" like on Mary Poppins!
While they were downstairs working, me and the girls and Bryce deep-cleaned our kitchen! They were all such good help! We took a family trip to the dump and to get ice cream after all of our work was done! We are so excited to finish the basement...a family room, two bedrooms, bathroom, toy room, "craft" room, and a storage room! We will let you know how progress goes! Happy turkey day everyone! We all have so much to be grateful for!

I can't wait to see the finished product. I have to admit, I was very afraid of grandma's basement when I was growing up. It probably didn't help that the older cousins always told me grandpa Orr was buried in the coal room.

Those two look like big dust mites. It will be so nice when it is done. Grandma Orr will be smiling down from heaven. Love you all!
Hope those masks kept out all the asbestos. If you guys were smart, you would have had Mitch and Mike do it for you...nice job though! Can't wait to see the finished product. Now we'll have an 8th option for a place to stay when we come into town. :)
