Kallie-girl...Our 8 year old!

Last year Kallie finished first grade.  At the end of 1st grade her class did a cute jungle program.  Kallie was one of the monkeys.

Kallie's 1st grade teacher, Mrs. Albaugh caught me one day last May and told me Kallie had had a hard day at school.  I asked what had happened.  Mrs. Albaugh said she had called on Kallie to read what was on the over-head projector.  She knew Kallie knew the words, but Kallie just sat there.  Mrs. Albaugh asked her again to read the words. Kallie continued to sit there for a minute and then began to cry.  Mrs. Albaugh asked her what was wrong and Kallie replied that she couldn't see the words...so down to Pocatello we went to visit Uncle Ryan...our eye doctor.

Sure enough...Kallie needed glasses...and her eyes needed a stronger prescription than Ryan expected.  She really couln't see!  (Hope she doesn't get as blind as her mom!)  Uncle Ryan dilated her eyes before we headed back home so she got to wear these "cute" glasses home!

A few days later Kallie got glasses!  She sure is cute with them on!  Of course she chose the purple pair (her favorite color)!

Kallie continues to love dance.  Last spring at her recital...ready to shine on stage!

She is taking dance again this year and still continues to love it!  This year she has two cousins in her class!  She continues to improve every year! (She is the one in the red.)

This year they are learning a cheerleading number for their recital!  She can't wait to see what her "cheer" uniform will look like!

Kallie also played knot-hole baseball last summer.  She was ready to get that ball!

Second grade is the grade Kallie is in now!  She loves her teacher and says this has been her favorite grade so far!  She has a great bunch of girls in her class.  This fall I got to go on her field trip with her to the Johnny Sack cabin up by Big Springs.  Kallie with some of her friends!

On the bus ride home, Kallie and her friends wrapped their jackets up like babies and pretended their water bottles were the baby bottles!  Quite the imaginations.

Kallie's favorite thing that she got to do in 2012 was be baptized.  It was a special day for this beautiful little girl!

She tells me often she isn't little anymore.  She is growing up!

She couldn't wait to wear her baptism dress and new shoes!  I loved the flowers all over her dress!

She also got to be baptized with two of her friends from our ward.

We love when one of our kids turns 8 and makes the choice to be baptized a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

After the baptism we went back to the Egin Church for a luncheon.  Getting the food ready (or are they snitching? :)!
