Malorie's last year of elementary school was last year. She was a little sad to say good-bye to Parker-Egin Elementary, but also super excited to start junior high. She had perfect attendance her last year there.
She LOVES junior high this year!
One fun thing they do at our elementary school for all of the 5th graders before they head to junior high is dunk them! They all look forward to the day of the 5th grade dunking machine. Malorie got to be one of the dunkees last spring before school got out! Ready or not!

Oh, she loved it and did it many times! Her sister and brother got to be two of the people that dunked her.
Every year since Malorie was 3 she has taken dance. She has become a great dancer. Last May she really liked her dance numbers for the recital. This one was her favorite.
It was called "blue dabadee". Oh, it was one of my favorites to watch too!
She has danced with her friend McKinley for the last 5 years. They go to different schools, but have become super friends through dance.
We were sad this fall when she and her family moved to North Dakota. She had a super good teacher and a great dance group.
This fall she had to make a hard choice. She wanted to try basketball and volleyball. She had to choose whether to take dance again or try these two sports. She thought long and hard for a long time and included prayer in her decision. We knew she would be busy with Young Women's activities as well. We think there are a lot of kids that get too busy and so we told Malorie to make a choice. She decided she would try the sports this year. I think she has missed dance, but she is really enjoying sports too! She enjoys the girls she plays ball with.
Basketball just ended for the season. Now she is playing volleyball. Here are some action shots from her basketball games.

Malorie loves being with her friends. One of her favorite friends is her cousin Lindsey. She lives in Rexburg so these two get to spend a lot of time together. She loves all of her cousins. Sometimes they even dress alike without planning it.
Sometimes their grandma gives them matching things and they love it!
I think Malorie's favorite sport is fast-pitch softball. She has played that for a long time. She is a pitcher. (Notice her tongue out in almost every picture!)

Another thing Malorie loves is "teaching school" to anyone who will enter her schoolroom!
She has transformed part of our den into her school room. Her grandma used to be a second grade teacher and gave her some of her teaching stuff! The kids LOVE to play in this room and have Malorie "teach" them.
Last month we had our New Beginnings in Young Women. Our theme was "Who's Team are You on?" and tied it into the YW/YM theme for the year of "Standing in Holy Places". We had all of the girls wear a jersey and we talked about being on the Lord's side and not on Satan's team. We already know who will win the game; we just have to make sure we are going to choose to be on the winning team. Being part of the winning team means standing in holy places! We had a fun night!

Malorie is a great girl and loves life! Her goal is to get taller than me too! She hasn't gotten there yet! We will see if it happens!
